Shirley Pickett Obituary

Shirley Julia Pickett nee Gudan, 90, of Sykesville, Maryland, passed away in her home with her family by her side. She was born on July 1, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland, one of four children to the late Edward John Gudan Sr. and Selma Anne Gutcher. Shirley was the beloved wife to the late Richard Bauman Pickett who passed in 2011. They cherished 31 years together. Shirley was a proud homemaker. She loved to cook, decorate, and clean. She enjoyed bowling on the league, playing cards, shopping, and her cat Buttons. Shirley was a faithful woman and a proud member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She spent much of her time volunteering at the Carroll Hospital gift shops. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son George C. Feit Jr., siblings; John Wayne Gudan, Edward John Gudan Jr. and Anna Selma Wilson; and her step grandson Scott Payne. She is survived by her loving family. Shirley was the loving mother to daughter Sue Ann Yoquinto and her husband Joseph, son David Feit and fiancée Sarah Decker, loving stepmother to Shirley Berringer and husband Phillip. She is survived by her grandchildren Jonathan and his wife Paxton Yoquinto, Zachary Feit, Mary Feit, and Kyle Feit, step granddaughter Michele Merson, and step great grandchildren, Colton and Evelyn. In addition, she is survived by her dear friend Bob Reter, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
