Joyce Viertel Obituary

Joyce H. Viertel, 82, of Cherry Valley, went to live with her heavenly father Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026.
Joyce was born Jan. 5, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Raymond G. Tinker and May Ellen Virginia Rector Tinker.
Joyce graduated from Moniteau High School in 1961. She married Erich (Rick) W. Viertel Oct. 20, 1961, who survives.
Joyce was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was very active. She assumed multiple roles and dedicated much time to the children's ministries.
In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by a son, Mark Viertel, and his wife, Angela, of Parker; a daughter, Renee Goodman, and her husband, Brad, of Harmony; her grandchildren, Kelsey Wilson, and her husband, Josh, of Rock Grove, Racheal Best, and her husband, Evan, of Parker, Annie Viertel, of Grove City, Madison Goodman, of Oakley, Utah, and Maggie Goodman, and her husband, Collin Binko, of Victor, Idaho; great-grandchildren, Kathleen and Ellowyn Wilson, of Rocky Grove, Easton Best, of Parker, and Stella and Sara Goodman, of Oakley, Utah. Joyce is also survived by her two brothers, Russell Tinker, and his wife, Pamela, of Lancaster, Pa., and David Tinker, and his wife, Kathy, of Emlenton. Joyce's brother-in- law, John Mucio, of Oil City, also survives.
Joyce was welcomed into heaven by her parents and her sister, Mary Ellen Tinker Mucio, and a brother, Mark.
VIERTEL - Family of Joyce H. Viertel, who died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, will welcome friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, Feb. 3, at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 3727 Oneida Valley Road, Emlenton.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at the church, with an hour of visitation prior to the funeral. Pastor Jacob Langdon, pastor from the church, will be officiating the service.
Burial will take place at the East Unity Cemetery.
