Marcus A. Ranaldi, 65, of Bristol, beloved husband of Tricia (Minella) Ranaldi, died on Saturday (March 21, 2026) at John Dempsey Hospital. Marcus was born on September 17, 1960, in New Britain and was a son of the late Aurelio and Clara (Korzeniecky) Ranaldi. Raised in Avon, he graduated from Avon High School, Class of 1978. He then attended Becker College in Massachusetts. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served four years as a member of the 172nd Infantry Brigade (Airborne). For the past eight years he was the assistant superintendent at the Hartford Golf Club. He has spent many hours for the past 16 years umpiring baseball games and was a member of the Hartford Board of Umpires. A sports fanatic, he enjoyed fishing and working the chain-gang at Bristol Central High School football games. In addition to his loving wife, Marcus is survived by two children: Ian Ranaldi and fiance, Bree DiMaio of Wallingford, and Julianna Ranaldi and fianc, Kylee Lecchi of Bristol; four siblings: Lisa Salhany (Steve) of Avon, Gregory Ranaldi (Chuck), Anthony Ranaldi (Renata) of New York City, and Aurelio Ranaldi (Kate) of Avon; the wife of his late father: Marylou Ranaldi of Torrington; his mother-in-law: Nancy (Fiorillo) Minella of Bristol; his late father-in-law: Eugene P. Minella; brothers-in-law: Michael Minella of Bristol, and Christopher Minella (Karen) of Cheshire; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat: Minka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (March 28, 2026) at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol followed by military honors. Burial is private. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Saturday between 9 and 11 a.m..
