Viola Espinosa

Viola Florence Espinosa, 79, of Wilmington, formerly of Albuquerque, passed from her earthly life on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington.

She was born on October 8, 1946, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, the daughter of the late Manuel Florence and the late Rita Apodaca Florence.

Viola was an avid reader and especially enjoyed civil war era books. After retiring her favorite hobby was spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Viola's family was the most important thing in her life.

Viola is survived by her sons, Martin Espinosa and his wife, Frida, Ray Espinosa and his wife, Traci; her grandchildren, Haley Espinosa, Toby Espinosa, Priscella Peralta-Morrison, Dennis Peralta, Nicholas Espinosa, Catrina Espinosa; her great grandchildren, Maell Morrison, Esme Morrison, Ciara Kopp, Lilah Peralta; her brothers, Albert Florence, Edward Florence; her sisters, Isabel Romero, Julia Hoag and her husband, David; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who are loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Viola was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Toby Espinosa Jr.; her brother, John Florence; and her sister, Louise Harris.

A private family burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico at a later date.
