Reyes J. Ash passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, reuniting with the great loves of his life, his wife Elizabeth and his daughter Josi. His life was defined by devotion to family, steady hard work, quiet generosity, and an enduring ability to enjoy the simple pleasures that made life meaningful.
Reyes was born on June 22, 1940, in
Springer, New Mexico, to Arturo and Elisa Ash. Raised with strong values and a deep sense of responsibility, he carried those qualities with him throughout his life. He built a reputation as someone who showed up, fixed what needed fixing, and took pride in doing things the right way.
For more than 20 years, Reyes worked as a mechanic at Frontier Ford, where his skill, reliability, and work ethic earned the respect of coworkers and customers alike. Through persistence and careful planning, he was able to invest in rental property in Albuquerque, creating stability and opportunity for his family long after his working years ended. Retirement was not a slowing down for Reyes, but a well-earned shift into enjoyment. He and Elizabeth embraced travel, exploring the country in their RV, taking cruises with friends and family, and making memories wherever the road led them.
Reyes leaves behind his sons, Kenneth and Thomas, and their partners, whom he welcomed as part of his family. He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Alexander, Brian, and Maverick, who will remember him as a steady presence and a man who led by example. He was a source of guidance, loyalty, and understated humor, offering support without fanfare and love without conditions.
A Mass in celebration of Reyes's life will be held at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, located at 1818 Coal Place SE,
Albuquerque, NM 87106, on May 15, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, prayer, and gratitude for a life well lived.
We will truly miss your humor ie. jokes, love and conversation. Adios to the King Reyes!
