Leora June Novak, nee Vidito of Naperville, IL passed away December 18, 2020 at the age of 92. Born June 6th, 1928 to Ben and Madeline Vidito, nee Dempsey she was one of six children. Leora married George R. Novak January 27, 1946. They had three beautiful children daughter Carol, (Ricky) Tucker, son George, (Arlene) Novak, and son James, (Carol) Novak. Six beautiful grandchildren grandson Ricky, (Cory) Romanek, granddaughter Rhonda Taylor, granddaughter Jennifer, (Eric) DeSimone, grandson Christopher J. Novak, Sr., granddaughter Ashley DeRose, and granddaughter Brittney (Corey) Hartmann. 15 great-grandchildren: Ricky & Reece Romanek, Sam & Zack Taylor, Christian, Jordan, Jessica, & Nathan DeSimone, Catelyn & Christopher Jr. Novak, Bella & Olivia DeRose, Kinleigh, Brayden, & Dylan Hartmann. Five great-great grandchildren: Annabella & Madilyn Taylor, Charli & Maci Romanek, and Bentley Romanek.
Leora had an amazing spirit that lit up every room she was in. Her laugh was an unforgettable joyous sound that was usually followed by her famous expression, "Oh joy!" She was often described as bubbly and compassionate by family and friends. She was a tomboy growing up on her family farm loving the outdoors. Leora was a hard worker at Rexnord Aerospace, in Downers Grove, IL for many years before retiring. She was an active member of the American Legion Post 80 holding many different board positions throughout the years. Her family will all remember fondly her silly "oops" moments that they will now have as dear memories of a life well lived. They will cherish her grace and remember her unconditional love. When asked what she was most proud of her answer never changed, it was always "all you kids!"
There will be a private service for immediate family only Tuesday December 22, 2020 at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes and Crematory 516 S. Washington Ave. Naperville, IL 60540. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Leora?s name to the American Legion Post 80 4000 Saratoga Ave. Downers Grove, IL 60515.
