James W. Himpler, 54, passed away on August 23, 2021. A life-long resident of Downer's Grove, Jim was born on February 10, 1967, in Hinsdale, Illinois.
Jim is the son of the late Jack Himpler and Anne Marie Himpler of Downers Grove. Jim graduated from Downers Grove North High School in 1985. He received a Bachelor's degree in Math and an MBA from Roosevelt University. Jim worked as a Math Teacher for several years for the Chicago Public Schools. He was a life-long member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Downers Grove. He was a natural at playing the guitar and the piano, he enjoyed cooking, loved reading philosophy and theology, and keeping abreast of politics. He is survived by his mother, Anne Marie, his twin brother, Joe and brother, Bill and his wife, Mary Sue of McLean, VA, two nephews and two nieces, two grandnieces and one grandnephew, also in Virginia. He is predeceased by his father, Jack Himpler who passed away in 2020. A private visitation was held at Adams Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, Downers Grove, followed by a Funeral Mass, offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, August 26 at 10:00 am. Interment followed at Clarendon Hills Cemetery.
