Sidney cohen Sidney Cohen, age 90, beloved husband and best friend of Shirley, nee Klimboff, for 67 wonderful years; loving father of Lauren Shindle and Stew (Rita) Cohen; cherished grandpa of Aaron Shindle, Dawn (Zack) Krone, Adam (Teresa) Shindle, Brenden and Brant Cohen and great grandfather of Bella; dear brother of Ilene (the late Morry) Friedman; treasured uncle and friend of many. Sidney was a proud WWII veteran. He served under General George Patton at D-Day and received many meritorious medals, including the Purple Heart. Sidney was a champion bowler, talented square dancer and singer. His greatest joy in life was family. Chapel service Monday 12:00 noon at the Beth Shearim Mausoleum at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Veterans Network, McHenry Hub for The Honor Flight, www.veteransnetwork committee.com.
