Marjorie Menoher Sutton
Marjorie Menoher Sutton, of LaGrange Park, IL, passed away peacefully after a short illness on March 1, 2018 at 86 years of age.
A native of Cedar Rapids, IA, Marjorie studied nutritional sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. After graduation she started her career as a hospital dietitian at the University of Michigan. There, she met the love of her life, a young resident physician named Harold Sutton, Jr. They married in 1956 and recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. Her professional and personal life were remarkable for a joyful devotion to the physical, intellectual, and emotional development of children. While raising four children, Harold III, Paul, Sarah, and Mary, Marjorie taught preschool children at Seton Montessori School in Clarendon Hills, IL.
Thereafter, she completed a Master's degree in nutrition from the University of Chicago and worked for 20 years as a member of the pediatric gastroenterology team at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics. Helping children with chronic illness grow and develop gave her deep satisfaction. After retiring, Marjorie remained active volunteering with the First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange and as a nutritionist with clinics in the Chicago area.
Marjorie is survived by her devoted husband, Harold; children, Harold III, Paul (Heather), Sarah (Bill), and Mary (Dan); brothers Paul (Bebe) and Charles (Judy); and precious grandchildren, Sarah, Benjamin, Adam, Robert, Joseph, and Alexander.
A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, June 16 at the First Presbyterian of La Grange- 150 S. Ashland Ave, La Grange, IL 60525, with Reverend Jonathan Krogh officiating. A brief reception will follow.

I was acquainted with Marjorie through the West Suburban Dietetic Association (now named the West Suburban Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics). She was always kind and thoughtful and a really good dietitian! While it's been a number of years since I've seen her, my memories of her are A+!
