January 20, 2026 Paula Jean Quesenberry McPherson, of Quail Valley Drive, Princeton, WV, transitioned from this earthly life into the eternal arms of her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ at Carilion Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. She was the daughter of the late Paul Wood Quesenberry and Audrey Sizemore Canterbury. Paula attended Thorn Elementary School in Princeton and graduated from Mt. Hope High School, Mt Hope, WV. She completed her education at Bluefield State University, Bluefield, WV.
Paula worked at Strother Drug in Princeton for a number of years and worked with the Mercer County School System for 27 years, as a teacher's aide at Thorn Elementary and Athens Elementary Schools. She finished her educational career as a Pre-School Teacher at Smithfield Baptist Church, Smithfield, Virginia.
Paula cherished spending time with her grandchildren, family members and visiting with her many friends. She loved to travel, especially visiting family members at Fort Myers Beach, FL. Paula faithfully attended Fairview Christian Community Church, Princeton, WV when her health permitted. She loved working alongside of her mother-in-law Arline McPherson during Fairview's Bible School for children and bantering with Reverend Larry Dyer during kitchen preparation.
Left to cherish her memory, are her husband, Michael W. McPherson, Princeton, Son, Chris Mullens, Princeton, Son Jeff Mullens (Danyelle), Tazewell, VA, Step-Daughter, Angie McPherson Williamson (Sherman), Manassas, Virginia, Grandson, Alex Mullens (Heather), Athens, WV, Anthony Simpson (deceased) , Granddaughters, Brianna Williamson Bustillos (Cristian), Manassas, VA, Alyssa Williamson, Manassas, VA, Lilly Prater, Tazewell, VA, Great Grandchildren, Roman Brown, Rich Creek, VA, Hailey Farley, Josh Farley, and Seth Farley, Athens, WV, Nephews, Anthony (Tony) McPherson (Roni), Cape Coral, FL and Michael D. McPherson, Princeton, Great Nieces, Savannah McPherson, Cape Coral, FL and Olivia Bevins (Joe), Bristol, VA
A funeral service will be held at Fairview Christian Community Church, 120 Black Oak Road, Princeton, WV on January 28, 2026, visitation at 1:00 p.m., funeral service at 2:00 p.m., internment at Sarver Cemetery, Spainishburg, WV

Mr. McPherson and family. I am so very sorry for your great loss. Paula was a beautiful lady and her smile would light up a room. I'll always remember the last time she was at church and I made certain I was able to speak with her. She turned around and gave me the biggest smile and a big hug. I'm sorry I was not able to attend her service. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
