Merrie and girls so sorry to hear about Henry's passing. He was always a kind happy person full of fun and joy. I have spent many nights as guest in their home. Will miss his smile and friendly ways about life. Prayers for all of you especially my dear friend Merrie whom I have known for decades.

To Mr. Bennie’s family and friends, may God’s Grace & Mercy continue to cover you. Mr. Bennet was a great leader and had true compassion & commitment to his OFS staff.He was a kind-hearted man.

Mr. Henry was such a sweet, sweet man. (From our first meeting, he never got my name right! Hahaha) Although I will not be able to attend his funeral, Renee, know that you are in my prayers and am so sorry for your losses.

May the cherished memories of Mr Henry bring you comfort in this time of sorrow. You have my deepest sympathies. I had the pleasure of working a the Region 9 Asst Regional Admin, MAM and MAS with Mr Henry. He taught me so much and was a mentor to so many of us.

Henry was the finest boss I ever had. He definitely led by example and as much as he expected of us supervisors he gave even more. He’d pit us against one another with the error report. Every month we had to submit the number of errors our unit made and he’d send out the list to all of us every month. It had each supervisor’s name and the number of errors for all of us to see. I worked extra hard to not have any errors because I respected him so much and more often than not my unit would have 0 errors. He would then come to my office with a sly grin and say I knew you’d do it!! I liked to think he was proud of me because I was from Amite too. He was one of the best men I’ve known and I am so sorry to hear of his death. My condolences and prayers are with his family and his many friends.

Henry and I grew up together in the Amite Church of Christ and Amite High School and Southeastern University. We both worked for the Department of Social Services for many years and served on committees throughout our tenure in our work. Every Christmas I received a beautiful Christmas card from Merrie and Henry which I looked forward to. If I needed help with any situation in our work Henry helped me figure out the answer. I am going to miss him so much. May God bless his family through this time. Love Jo Ellen

Henry Bennett was one fine person, very likable. I always enjoyed visiting with him. I sure am sorry to hear of his passing.

I am saddened to hear of Henry’s passing. He worked with my mom, Myrtie McCoy, in Amite at the then-named “welfare office.” He will be missed by many in the community. Sending prayers for the family.

Henry was the MOST wonderful mentor and boss a woman could ever have. I owe him soooo much for all his encouragement (he definitely had the God-given gift!) during my lengthy career in state government social and health services. He genuinely cared about the people we were serving and modeled that for us. The #1 lesson he taught me was to embrace change—always be looking for a better way to do things.

Henry was one of the nicest men I ever met.

Henry was a quiet soul..some of us would say laughingly "A man of "many" words". He and Uncle Norman wired my house when I built. My prayers to Merry, Lori and Renee. That is one big reunion in Heaven with the Bennett clan..

Merrie, Renee, Lorie and families, I am so sorry to hear of Henry’s passing. He was a great friend, and a wonderful boss for many years of my working career. He will be greatly missed by me as well as many others. I send my love, prayers and thoughts to you all.
