Michael Smith Obituary

     Michael Smith, 64, of Sidney, KY, passed away Tuesday morning, February 3, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
     Michael was born May 12, 1961, at Pikeville, KY, the son of the late Joseph Monroe Smith and Mary Jane Ball Smith.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Phyllis Kirk, Lou Ellen Smith, Darrell Smith, David Smith, Rosie Taylor, Lee Smith and Ed Smith.
     Michael was a surface coal miner with United Coal Company.  Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
     Michael is survived by his wife, Tammy Smith of Sidney, KY; his children, Sara Smith, Joseph Michael Smith, Raven Rachelle Smith (KJ Jude) and Caleb Kimon Reed; his siblings, Mary Ann (Charlie) Landsaw, Terrie Kay (Arlin) Blair, Tammy Diane (Jeff) Smith, and Patricia Ann Smith; his loving grandchildren, Tyree, Terry and Tripp Nunley, Liam Smith, Harper Hatfield, Lennox, Gage, Keonna, and Joseph Jude; his special friends, Madison Thompson, Donnie Messer and a host of other loving family and friends.
     Michael's visitation will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 3 - 6 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with his funeral service at 4 PM, with Zeke Stepp officiating.  R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY, is serving the Smith family.  Online condolences at www.rerogersfh.com.
