Jimmie Hendrix Obituary
HENDRIX, Jimmie Wayne - Of Swartz Creek, age 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Funeral service will be held 3pm Sunday, January 18, 2026 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor David Mulherin officiating. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm Sunday prior to the funeral service.
Visitation 11am Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Jimmie was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on August 13, 1944. He was a resident of Swartz Creek for many years. Jimmie married Mary Bernice Richard on November 28, 1964. He was a member of UAW Local #598 and Swartz Creek Masonic Temple #458. Jimmie was a loving, devoted husband, father, papa and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He retired in 2006 from General Motors Truck and Bus as a skilled trades electrician after 42 years of service.
Surviving are wife, Mary Bernice;
children, Jill and Brian;
grandchildren, Arriana and fiancé Corey Gray, Gage, Colton, Brianna, Mikayla, and Shawna;
8 great-grandchildren;
Siblings, Sherrol, Joe and Tammy;
And several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence M. Hendrix and mother, Grace E. (Whaley) Hendrix.
