William A. Marbach, 90, of Oakbrook Terrace formerly of Elmhurst and summer resident of Omena, MI., died on November 12, 2012. Beloved husband of Carolyn D. Marbach for 63 years; fond father of William D. (Deborah Witherspoon) Marbach, Elizabeth M. (Douglas) Thompson and Margaret M. (Al) Buchholz; grandfather of Catherine and Billy Buchholz, Greg (Parisa) Beers and Sam Thompson; great grandfather of Zahra, Leila and Kimia Beers. Bill was a World War II Army veteran, a graduate of Lake Forest College and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Since moving to Elmhurst in 1953, he was active in many religious and charitable organizations. He was a charter member and Elder of the Elmhurst Presbyterian Church, served on the board of the Ray Graham Association for decades and was on the board of the Elmhurst Public Library. He also served as an Elder at the Omena Presbyterian Church. Bill enjoyed a long career in business, retiring from Container Corporation of America in 1992.
