William Perry DuBose, age 94, of Ingalls, Arkansas and Elmhurst, Illinois, died Friday, September 9, at his home in Ingalls.
He was born November 23, 1921 at Hermitage, Arkansas a son of the late Elbert Hudson DuBose, Sr. September 10, 1886-November 29, 1960 and Wiloate Herring DuBose, February 2, 1892 to April 1, 1983. He received his education in the Hermitage Public School system and was a graduate of Warren High School following his service with the US Navy in World War II. Mr. DuBose served in the Pacific Theater participating in 4 major invasions on the Islands of Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa and Leyete. He managed the Ederington John Deere Tractor Company in the late 1940's, worked in El Dorado for 2 car dealers and moved to the Chicago area in 1955 starting National lift Truck Company which is now owned and managed by his two sons. He was a Methodist.
Surviving is his wife, Margie Alene Vickers DuBose, whom he married on June 26, 1941 at Sumpter, Arkansas; 2 sons, Perry Dale DuBose and wife, Toni and Jeffrey Paul DuBose and wife, Debra all of Oak Brook, Illinois; 1 daughter, Beverly Kay DuBose and husband, Ron Cochran, Ingalls, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Perry is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Lynn DuBose Shea, November 18, 1946 to August 30, 1996; 2 brothers, Elbert Hudson DuBose, Jr. 1910 to 2001 and Billie Max DuBose 1927 to 1977; 6 sisters, Willie Belle DuBose November 4, 1912 to November 28, 1912, Jessie DuBose Schroeder, 1912 to 1993, Cleo DuBose Gorman 1916-1981, Vada DuBose Davis, 1918 to 1993, Martha Kate DuBose Greene, 1924 to 2012 and Peggy Jean DuBose 1933 to 2006.
Funeral service was 2:00pm Sunday, September 11, at Frazer's Chapel by Rev Robert Greene and Rev Wayman Mann. Janice Sullivan was organist and Ashley Stone Minchew was soloist.
Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery at Ingalls by Frazer]s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Keith DuBose, Steven DuBose, Jeffery Scott DuBose, Jacob Uluested, Rhett Faruzzi, Patrick Bonk, Marck Bonk and Luke Bonk. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Vickers, Dan Vickers, Bobby Vickers and Jack Gorman.
