William J. Hill

William "Bill" Joseph Hill, age 66, of Ripon, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, surrounded by his friends and family at Ripon Medical Center.
Bill was born June 25, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Charles William and Betty Louise (Madux) Hill. He graduated from high school in West Chicago and went on to serve our country in the United States Army from December 6, 1968 to July 9, 1970. Bill was in the 82nd Airborne Division, 3d Brigade, Battery C, 23d Artillery, Vietnam. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Army Commendation Medal. On August 16, 1975, Bill married Kathy Mary Moniz in Wheaton, IL and was happily married for 40 years. He worked in maintenance at Grancare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac.
Bill was an avid bird watcher and loved to watch Pelicans. He enjoyed fishing and going on nature rides. Bill liked old cars, especially hot rods and muscle cars. He loved telling of his adventures and stories in general. Bill was a friend to everyone and will be deeply missed by his friends, family and his cat, Pixie.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy M. Hill of Ripon, WI; daughter, Laura M. (Eric) Surman of Brillion, WI; three grandchildren, Evelyn, Gwendolyn and Alexander Surman all of Brillion, WI; two sisters, Laura (Charles) Neely of Mississippi and Maggie (Ricky) Bradley of Leakesville, MS; one brother, James Casey of Leakesville, MS; brother-in-law, Thomas (Penny) Moniz Jr. of Ripon, WI; and three sisters-in-law, Marta (Edward) Brown of Warrenville, IL, Pamela Hardee of Ripon, WI, Deborah Smith of Port St. Lucie, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Gray (formally Hill); son, Charles Thomas Hill; sister, Katie Snyder and father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Lillian Moniz Sr.
Per Bill's wishes there will be no service.

We remember Bill from Grancare, when my mom was there several years ago. He was always up for a "chat". we remember he was battling cancer at that time. God's blessings on his family.
