Scott Daniel Wisthuff, 60, of Mishawaka, died Thursday, January 25th at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago of a recent illness.

Scott was born May 7, 1957 in Fort Belvoir, VA to Lois J. (Roesti) and Ronald A. Wisthuff. Scott had lived in the Michiana area since 1979 coming from La Grange, IL.

On July 12, 1980 in Avilla, IN, he married Sally Edgerton who survives. Also surviving are his children, Evan A. Wisthuff (Katie Sparks-Wisthuff) of Chicago; Alison M. Wisthuff of Lafayette, IN; and his parents, Lois J. and Ronald A. Wisthuff of La Grange; and brothers, Mark Wisthuff (Sue, children, Rachel and David) and Kurt Wisthuff (Deanna, children Issac and Charlotte) all of La Grange. Also surviving are extended families the Edgertons, Nobles, and Bucks.

Scott was raised in a home of strong values including faith, family, and community. He built his own family on this same foundation. Scott graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and holds an MBA from Indiana University. He devoted his career to Bosch (formerly Bendix), with whom he worked as an engineer and manager for 39 years.

As a wonderful and loving husband, father, and soon-to-be grandfather, Scott valued sharing experiences with family and friends above all else. He was passionate about his faith, travel, missions, music, sports (especially Purdue and Chicago teams), gardening, and good food and drink. Scott was very generous and gave of his talents and resources in service to children and youth organizations. As a member of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church for 39 years, he took an active role in many aspects of the ministry.

His family grieves this loss and wishes to uphold his memory by celebrating his life together with family and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 31st at Evangel Heights United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Patrick Somers officiating. Committal services and burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park following a reception/luncheon at the church. The family received friends to celebrate Scott's life from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30th at the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd., South Bend, IN 46635.
