Sandra Sue Skat

Sandra Sue Skat passed away on October 2, 2017 after a battle against relapsed multiple myeloma, a blood cancer. She is the daughter of Dorothy Brown and the late Robert Brown.
Sandy is survived by her daughters, Molly Skat (Aaron Hunt) of Thorn, Netherlands, and Betsy Kruse (Lucas) of Papua, Indonesia; granddaughters, Adley and Cora Kruse; brothers, Chuck Brown (Cheri Collins) and Robert Brown, Jr. (Mary Wood); along with nieces and nephews, Brenden and Maggie Brown, Dalton, Cooper, and Sloan Skat, and Alissa Bart and Abby Hrodey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Al "Tip" Skat.
Sandy was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 12, 1951, where she attended Roosevelt High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa, where she was active in the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and a master's degree from St. Xavier University. She was introduced to Al through mutual friends during her years at Iowa, and they married in 1976. After marrying, they lived in Norridge and Elmhurst, IL, where Sandy taught physical education in the Elmhurst school district.
Sandy was active in her church and truly loved her church family. Some of her favorite ways to spend time included playing games, being active in the outdoors, antiquing, and spending quality time with friends and family, especially in Clear Lake, IA and in Minocqua, WI. She will be missed for her thoughtfulness, compassion, hospitality, and positive outlook on life.
In celebration of her life, a memorial service was held on October 7th at Elmhurst Presbyterian Church.
