Ralph C. Henrikson, age 85, US Army Veteran, of Winfield, formerly of West Chicago, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011. He was born in West Chicago on July 16, 1925 to Harold and Clara Henrikson. Ralph graduated from West Chicago High School and attended University of Illinois briefly before entering into the US Army during WWII. Ralph was united in marriage on March 6, 1953 to Marianne Zeier. He worked for with his father in the masonry business and took over the family business after his father's death. Ralph was a past commander and lifetime member of the American Legion Post 300 in West Chicago. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking and photography. Ralph loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Ralph is survived by his wife, Marianne of 57 years; two daughters, Cindy (Don) Voelz of West Chicago and Amy Kaylor of Winfield; four grandchildren, Kelly and Dan Kaylor and Courtney and Jamie Voelz; sister, Verna Connell; son-in-law, Corey Kaylor; four nieces; one nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 11:00 am until time of service at 3:30 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. West Chicago. Interment Private.
