Philip Roberts Obituary
PHILIP BRUCE ROBERTS Philip Bruce Roberts, age 93, passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Philip Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Adabelle (Downing) and their cherished children, David (Teri) and Nancy (George) Himmes, adoring grandchildren Michael (Cassie) Himmes, Maggie (John) Cheney, Julie (fianc?, Jared Shannon) Himmes, Tessa (Michael) Lee, twin great-grandsons, Aaron and Tyler, and many nieces and nephews. "Gramps" was a proud World War II Army Veteran (Alaska and Okinawa), long-time member, elder and Sunday school teacher of Lombard Community Presbyterian Church, avid fisherman, poet, teller of tall tales, and woodworker. A loving "grandpa" to many. A man of deep faith and conviction, Philip was an inspiration to all he met. He will be dearly missed, and his thoughtfulness, compassion, and love of God, family and country will never be forgotten. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at Community Presbyterian Church, 1111 E. Madison, Lombard. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to The Wounded Warrior Project - website; VITAS Hospice, 580 Waters Edge Lane #100, Lombard, IL 60148; Lombard Community Presbyterian Church. Interment will be private.
