Marvin Louis "Murph" Leffler, age 86, at rest January 7, 2019 at Edward Hospital in Naperville.
Born February 1, 1932 in Joliet, IL., he was the youngest of 8 children of William and Caroline (nee Schroeder) Leffler.
On February 12, 1955, Murphy married Marianne Hennebry and together they raised three sons, Thomas (Jana), Timothy (Tracey) and James (Maureen).
Survived by his wife of 63 years and the proud grandpa of nine grandchildren; Nicholas, Thomas (Valerie), Jordan, Christian, Michael, Timothy, Gage, Kathleen and John; twin great granddaughters, Autumn and Ava; one sister, Helen (Paul) Goebel of Iowa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dieter and Marge Michaelsen, Beth Hennebry, Tom Hennebry and Marlene Davis; also many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
After graduating Lemont High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving four years during the Korean Conflict.
Murph loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Herbert, Richard, and Norman; and sisters, Dorothy (Arthur) Anderson and Erna (Robert) Kauk.
Murph was a lifelong resident of Lemont, IL and longtime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and Lemont VFW Post 5819. Visitation Friday January 11, 2019 from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Gerharz-Cappetta Funeral Home 501 State St., Lemont. Funeral Services Saturday 11:00 A.M. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, will lie in state from 10:00 A.M. till time of services. Interment Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St, Matthew Lutheran Church, 305 Lemont St., Lemont IL 60439 would be appreciated.
