Lucille Christensen
Lucille Christensen, 92, a long-time resident of Riverside, passed peacefully to the Lord on July 25. Lucille grew up on the South Side of Chicago and married Donald Christensen, a World War II Navy veteran and later a 40-year Tribune employee. They enjoyed 57 years together before his passing in 2005. She was an active member of Riverside Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years before moving to Vero Beach, FL in 2015. Lucille volunteered for many years at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn and Dodgertown Elementary School in Vero Beach. She enjoyed many cruises and was a loyal White Sox fan.
She is survived by daughter, Jane Bowers (husband, Mark, North Bend, WA); sons, Dan (Vero Beach) and Tom (wife, Sue, Plantation, FL); grandchildren, Matthew and Christen Bowers, Amy Gross and Carrie Christensen; great grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Gross; and 13 nieces and nephews.
