I was lucky to have a little time to talk shop with Larry while he was out here in the Bay area 4 years ago doing a gig at Yoshi's. My father told me that heaven is a place where your guitar always stays in tune, you never miss a note and you have perfect tone. I'm sure Larry is there and knows what it's like. He's the kind of musician though that I'm sure would intentionally stretch a few notes and intentionally change a few tunings just to stay on the edge and maybe push the boundaries...

Always have loved the 'Coryell' album since friends turned me on to it in the seventies. I remember that he played at the Encore in Shadyside (Pittsburgh) and was really bummed because I was not 21 yet and couldn't get in. RIP, Mr. Coryell!
