Thinking of you, Rhoda Reid! If it weren't for Jim's affiliation with the 90th Division, I would never have met you. I'm grateful to have known him and to claim you as my dear friend. And, to Jim in Heaven, "Thank you for your service--Rest In Peace!"

Rhoda,
Your dear Jim will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. I am so honored to be a part of the 90th Division through the Hertzog clan and treasure the reunions I have attended under Jim's (and yours) leadership and guidance. You both have been the heartbeat of the organization and leave a legacy that will be hard to follow. You have been in my thoughts and prayers. I know the sadness of losing a loving spouse, but we can be comforted knowing that both Jim and Frank are Home in God's loving care.
I miss you my friend

It was summer, 1965. My Aunt Nat and Uncle Jim would come to our house with Jimmy in the summer, and sit next to the pool with my parents in our backyard so the children could swim while they talked. In my mind Uncle Jim was a celebrity because he had been a cameraman for Bozo the Clown--my favorite TV show. Then, as I grew up, he became a successful businessman and soft voice of reason. I didn't know about his heroic Normandy connection until much, much later. An accomplished man, a trusted advisor, a true friend to our family. Rest in peace, Uncle Jim!

Dear Rhoda,
Jim and you started as our customers but soon became friends. You could tell Jim was someone special who shared his warm personality and wisdom whenever he met you. Few people meet a real war time hero and we are so lucky to say we did. Rhoda, you cared for Jim all the way and Jim was so lucky to have you in his life. We, at Oxford, will always have fond and happy memories of Jim. God bless you and best wishes

Dear Rhoda,
For years Jim and you have been there welcoming us when we were coming from France to attend the reunion.
Year after year, Jim was there, smiling at us when we were entering the hotel.
He had been a faithful soldier, fignting and suffering for the freedom of my country among the soldiers of the 90th Infantry Division, then a faithful executive secretary for the association but moreover he had been a faithful friend to us.
We will miss him a lot and the reunions will never be the same.
Thank you for your devoted life.

Jim & Rhoda,
From the time you walked into my office and sat down, a very special bond was created. I only wish I could have sat with you for hours upon hours. I would have loved to hear and see the tapestry you would have painted.
To hear the love that came from your wife was amazing all by itself. The short time we spent together will forever be written in the book of my life.
Thank you Jesus for blessing my life with two wonderful people. Your majesty brought them to me and made them friends forever. While you have taken Jim home to be with you, I pray that you be with Rhoda as she continues her journey. Please walk with this wonderful woman through this time of great sadness.
We may not know why we must perish hut are relieved to know that eternal life is our through you. Amen
Jim, Job well done, rest well soldier! Hoorah!
I love you both,
George
