Tomorrow we lay my mother-in-law to rest. She will be remembered as a woman who lived a long and full life. She loved color, gardening, dancing, sewing and animals of all kinds. She had a generous heart who thought of her family first. She was blessed with four children, 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was one of the original Avon ladies, visiting people in the neighborhood, dressed as a proper Avon lady should.
She loved adventure and always was willing to experience whatever was put in front of her. I remember taking her to WI for the grape and harvest fest where the crowd quickly got around her chanting Go Grandma, go! for the grape seed spitting contest. I remember her at 75 roller-skating at her grandkids party. I remember her intense love of cats and dogs and feeding any of them in the neighborhood. Feeding the birds and making sure they always had food and water. Her garden was legendary for her vegetables and the flowers, oh the flowers, were magnificent. She loved to dance and enjoy the music always with Don (my father-in-law).
Hopefully, after tomorrow, shell be reunited with her husband so they can dance into heaven, together again.

I remember cinnamon, I remember the pretzels on the coffee table, I remember the California raisins in the glass case, I remember your garden, I remember playing in the backyard, I remember climbing the tree in front, I remember the hotdogs you made me, I remember the lilac parade you would take me to, I remember you calling me Barney, I remember the rug covers on your toilet seats, I remember the cats running around, I remember your beautiful flowers everywhere, I remember your smile big and bright....I remember a lot! But Ill never forget the time I got to spend with you. You were amazing. I love you!

Grandma,
I love you and miss you so much. I will always cherish the days of popcorn and Cubs games with you and grandpa and the many days in the backyard of your house picking mulberries and searching for 4 leaf clovers. I will cherish the Christmas holidays when all of us kids were in the bathroom listening for Santa and his reindeer to land on our roof and swoop down the chimney to leave presents under the tree. Most of all, I will cherish the beautiful smile you always had on your face that lit up every room. I am so happy that my babies got to know you and spend time with you. May you rest in peace and enjoy your place in Heaven where you will be reunited with grandpa and you can be together again forever. I love you grandma.
