Frank John Vitek III, age 68, a longtime resident of Naperville, IL, formerly of Stickney and Lisle, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at his home after a long battle with a progressive neurological disease. He was born August 12, 1948 in Berwyn, IL.
Beloved husband of Bonita "Bonnie" Vitek (nee Harmon), whom he married June 13, 1970; loving father of Colin (fianc e, Alicia Bastian) Vitek of Naperville and Stacia "Staci" (Jim) Hering of New Lenox, IL; devoted son of the late Frank, Jr. and Marian Vitek; dear brother of Victoria Manteck, Cheryl (John) Zitzer, Michael (Laurie) Vitek and Marcia (Dr. Tom) Laneve; brother-in-law of Judith (Joe) Disano Cunningham; fond uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.
Frank grew up in Lyons, IL, attended Robinson Elementary School and was a graduate of Morton West High School in Berwyn, IL. He received his undergraduate degree in Business and Aviation from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and earned a masters degree in Business from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. Frank began his career with Western Electric in Cicero, IL and later was employed by the Coin Laundry Association in Chicago for 18 years, retiring as CEO because of his illness. Frank was an avid and enthusiastic traveler.
Visitation Monday, September 26, 2016, 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St, Naperville. A celebration of Frank's life will be held Tuesday, September 27, 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment: Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
