Frances Jones Born: April 20, 1918; Philadelphia, PA Died: Dec. 17, 2013; Geneva, IL Frances Jones, age 95, of Glen Ellyn, died of natural causes on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at The Robbins Nest assisted living facility, Geneva, Illinois. Frances was born April 20, 1918, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Cuscaden) Harris. After graduating with an AA Degree from Linden Hall, Lititz, Pennsylvania, she married Harmon Vaughan Jones. Frances was a stay-at-home mom raising her two daughters, Nancy and Ellen. When her husband of 30 years passed away, Frances, at age 55, learned to drive and got a job at Creative Gift in Glen Ellyn, where she worked for many years. She liked to read and write. She wrote both serious and silly poetry. She loved the perfect word, perfect book and perfect poem. A well-put witty thought was always appreciated. Frances could knit anything. Daughters, Nancy and Ellen, enjoyed wearing sweaters and dresses she knitted as did their dog Maude. Frances volunteered for many years at Central DuPage Hospital. She was an active member of St. Marks Episcopal Church, Glen Ellyn, where a memorial service was held for her on December 24, 2013. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Gale, St. Charles, and Ellen Tucciarone, Auburn, California; granddaughters, Ellen "Gita" (Gale) Dailey, Westfield, New Jersey, Kathryn Sleiman-Tucciarone of Buellton, California and Elizabeth Tucciarone of Sacramento, California; five great-grandchildren, Aidan, William, and Grace Dailey, Westfield, New Jersey and Guiliana and Elena Sleiman-Tucciarone, Buellton, California. Frances ' family would like to thank Dr. Robin Ross and her entire staff at The Robins Nest for their kind and loving care of Frances. Frances will be remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.
