David was a 1961 graduate of Downers Grove High School. He was inducted into the U.S. Army at the age of 22 in 1965 and served overseas in Vietnam. After returning from service, he acquired and ran several laundromats in the Downers Grove area. He later sold these and bought a family hair salon in Arlington Heights, which he ran for many years.

David married Kathleen in 1989 at the Fox Valley Presbyterian Church of Geneva. The couple raised their two children first in Glen Ellyn for five years, and then in Batavia for sixteen years. He was especially devoted to his children's education and their extra curricular activities, including music, sports, and dance. Over the years, he and his family were also very active at Glen Ellyn Bible Church, First Baptist Church of Geneva, and Valleybrook Community Church in Elburn. David was a kind and loving son, husband, father, and brother. He will always be remembered with much love and affection by those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Geneva, 2300 South Street, Geneva.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the CurePSP Foundation (website: www.curepsp.org).
