Cecilia Gomez Obituary

Cecilia Gomez, age 73, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. She was born on November 22, 1937 in Mexico to Cresencio and Tiburcia Gonzalez. Cecilia was united in marriage in 1960 to Enrique Gomez. She was a homemaker and very active member of St. Mary's parish in West Chicago belonging to the choir and volunteering at the food pantry. Cecilia is survived by her husband Enrique of 50 years; six sons; Raul of Waukegan, David of Houston, TX, Gerardo, Jesus, Cesar and Rene of West Chicago; two daughters; Silvia (David) Castillo and Nora Gomez of West Chicago; six grandchildren; David, Cassie, Jade, Jeyesenia, Neenah and Gabriel; one great-granddaughter Annabell; three siblings and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; son Fernando; daughter Azucyna and three siblings. Visitation was held on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2 to 8 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. Prayers were Monday, March 14, 2011 at 9:30 am from the funeral home to St. Mary's Church. Mass 10 am. Interment Assumption Cemetery. 630-231-0060 or www.norriswalensegertfh.com
