William Stockhausen, formerly of Brookfield, IL resided in Downers Grove, IL the past 43 years is survived by his beloved wife Geraldine (Swatek). In addition to his wife are their 5 children William A. (Marian), Nancy A. Focht (Gary), John M. (Maureen), Mary L. Nedbal (Joseph) and Mark E. Other survivors include their 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many friends. The loving son of the late Joseph and Anna Stockhausen, and fond brother, Joseph O. Stockhausen preceded in death. And fond brother in law Donald J. Swatek. Will Stockhausen joined the Army reserves during the Korean War era and was a Sergeant First Class. He worked for Unisys Corp. for 40 years as an electronics technician and retired at the age of 59. In 1972 during the Presidential election Mr. Stockhausen, a computer maintenance tech., was accountable for counting the ballot votes. In addition he was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Holy Name Society and member and partial owner of Lockport Golf and Recreation Club. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and a born traveler. But more important was his loving, caring family. Visitation held from 3-9pm Friday, January 4, 2013 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove. Prayers 9:15am Saturday from the funeral home to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for Mass at 10am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Lung Assoc. appreciated. To John Stockhausen and Family: Please accept my condolences on the passing of your father/husband, William Stockhausen. I did not know him personally, but I have known John & Maureen for many years.
