I emailed Rolando on Saturday and sadly he was unable to read it before he passed so I will just share it here.
Rolando,
I was invited to meet up with some of the old guys at the hangar the other day to surprise you on your last day at US Heli but unfortunately I couldn't make it due to my work schedule and other things. But I asked Mike Sypien to say hello for me and he came back with your email address.
Mike sort of filled me in on why it had to be your last day at work and I was so sorry to hear that you were still having to deal with your illness. Talking with him about you brought back a lot of memories from the old days at the hangar. Some of my favorite memories from my years there were the sometimes deep conversations you and I had about all different things. God, religion, science, evolution etc.... Those conversations all stuck with me over the years for some reason. Probably because you are so damn smart! So when I was remembering all of that I just had to drop you a line and say hello and send you all of my best wishes. Keep being awesome, Rolando!
Regards,
CB
