Robert Campagnolo, 84, a 52 year resident of Elmhurst, passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Ann nee Gartner. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Mae nee Smith; without words, best father in this world of Michael (Karen) Campagnolo, Steve (Nancy) Campagnolo, Christopher (Debbie) Campagnolo, Lisa (Robert) Rice, Peter (Debbie) Campagnolo, Matthew (Theresa) Campagnolo and Susan (Anthony) Salgado; wonderful grandfather of Nicholas, Sarahann, Tony, Nicole, Shane, Shaelyn, Alex, Lindsey, Zackary, Brittany, Sarah, Michael, Greg, Justin, Ashley and Jaclyn; great-grandfather of 2; dear son of the late Luisa nee Denda and Angelo Campagnolo; fond brother of Angelo (Aleda) Campagnolo Jr. and Rosalie Campagnolo. Robert served in Korea, worked as a Commercial Artist for Turtle Wax for over 40 years and was an usher at Visitation Church for over 20 years. He was an amateur magician and loved painting, sculpture, golf and travel. Visitation at Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20. Prayers 9:00 a.m. Monday, January 21 at the funeral home, going to Visitation Church. Mass at 9:30 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. I wish to extend my deepest sorrow. I worked with Bob and Angelo at Turtle Wax. He taught me much about design, illustrating and how to do my work. I am very fond of my memories of him and his wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed.
