Richard A. Havlik, age 69, of Elroy, formerly of LaValle, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017, at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
He was born on February 19, 1948, in Illinois, the son of Richard J. and Emily Havlik. Richard proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service, Rich was employed as a police officer for 26 years in Stickney, IL and later was and armed guard at Social Security in La Crosse. On March 27, 1995, Rich was united in marriage to Deborah L. Golden. He enjoyed antique cars, especially attending car shows and Old Fashioned Days in Wonewoc, and could often be found tinkering in his garage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Barry.
Rich is survived by his wife, Debbie of Reedsburg; children, Ricky Havlik, Jr. of IL, and Dustin Havlik (Jen Hunter) of LaCrosse; sister, Sandy (Gary) Monigold of IL.
A memorial service for Richard A. Havlik will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Lutheran Cemetery in Greenwood Township, Vernon County.
