Nelle Di Grazia

NELLE VERONICA DI GRAZIA Nelle Veronica Di Grazia, 101, was living in Fort Smith, Arkansas, but formerly resided in both Summit and La Grange Park, Illinois, died March 9, 2013, in Fort Smith. She was born, September 15, 1911, to Anthony and Maria Guintoli Pucci, in Argo, Illinois. She worked at General Motors, while putting her husband through De Paul University Law School. She started the soup kitchen in Summit during the Depression and was President of the Argo-Summit Women 's Club for five years. She did a great deal of charitable work during this time for the Library, the Health Center, and the Lion 's Club. She played golf with the veterans at Hines Hospital and planted numerous trees in honor of their deceased members. She was the chairman of the "Day in June" at Edgewood Valley Country Club for several years, raising money for the local hospitals. She began a babysitting service at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where she was a member. Last but not least, she represented a large part in moving the Father Marquette Monument to its current location in the Summit Park. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lynne and husband Robert Cloar of Fort Smith, and Barbara Rasmussen of Laguna Woods, California; five grandchildren, Kimberly Cloar Burton and husband Randy of Littleton, Colorado, Justin Cloar of Fort Smith, Ginelle Cloar of Santa Rosa, California, Todd Rasmussen of Tuson, Arizona, and Matthew Rasmussen of Mission Viejo, California; and three great grandchildren, Andrew and Cora Burton and Kendall Cloar. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Attorney, Anthony Antonio Di Grazia. Graveside service will be Friday, June 28, 2013, at 11:00 AM in the Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois. Mass will be said on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in LaGrange, Illinois.
