MILAN JOHN POHOVEY Milan "Milt" John Pohovey, age 88, Glen Ellyn resident for 56 yrs, passed away on June 21, 2013. Beloved husband for 63 years to Arline (nee Fara); loving father to Linda (Douglas) Novak; Nancy (James) Egerton; Steven (Sandra) Pohovey; devoted grandfather to Brian, Daniel, Ellen Egerton; Jeffrey, Jonathon (Brenda) Novak; John and Anastasia Pohovey; brother-in-law to Raymond Fara; nephew Michael Fara, great uncle to Christopher Fara of New York. Milt enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduation from Morton High School in 1943. After his training at the Technical Air Center and later Practical Dive Bombing, he was assigned to the 3rd Marine Airwing and was stationed at Midway Island in the Pacific where he served until the war ended. He took pride in serving his country and being a WWII Veteran. Later, Milt became a photoengraver in the printing industry. He had many interests and loved nature and the outdoors. He was a member of the YMCA in Glen Ellyn and enjoyed the friendship of his many close friends through the years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 500 Anthony St., Glen Ellyn.
