Clyde M. Koehn
Clyde M. Koehn, age 91, of LaGrange; dearly beloved husband of the late Joan C.; devoted father of Susan Koehn, Joy Blondin, Chrysa (Michael) Rivera, Conni (Anh) Thai, Jack (Kyle) Koehn, and Betsy Dumouchel; loving grandfather of 10; cherished great-grandfather of 7; dear brother of Kenneth Koehn.
Preceded in death by his loving grandson, Michael; siblings, Anthony, Frank, Roger, James, Merla, and Imogene; and parents, Anton and Clara (nee Siedel) Koehn.
Memorial Mass 10:00am Friday, May 19 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Lagrange. Private interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
Mr. Koehn joined the Navy at the beginning of WWII, actively participating in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He remained active in the Naval Reserves, and recalled to active duty at the onset of the Korean War. Upon discharge, he settled in LaGrange Illinois to raise his family. He actively participated as a deacon at St. Francis Xavier Church, along with being a member of the Knights of Columbus. He coached his children's Little League teams and after school athletic teams. In retirement, he and his wife traveled the country, enjoying family gatherings and annual reunions with his USN shipmates.
