Charles J. Bezdek, age 90, passed away May 27, 2012 at the British Home in Brookfield, IL. A long time resident of Berwyn, he was the beloved son of Karel and Anna Bezdek; devoted husband of 62 years of Geraldine Bezdek; loving father of Charles A., Gregory (Star), Russell (Sandy); grandfather of Summer and Bryce; brother of the late Stazie Merhaut, Mary Pavler, Ollie Bezdek, and Rose Sklenar. Charles was past Master of Masonic Lodge No. 862 in Riverside, IL, long time member of I.O.O.F. Bohemia Lodge # 202 of Cicero, IL, member over 50 years of the Bohemian American Concertina Club as a drummer. A World War II Navy Veteran, Charles served in the South Pacific Theater as an aviation machinist mate on Admiral Paul Hendren's personal PBY.
