Kenneth Barnick Born: Oct. 4, 1933 Died: Dec. 18, 2014 Kenneth Barnick, 81, of Chatham, passed away December 18, 2014. He was born October 4, 1933, to Joseph and Bernice Johnson Barnick. Ken married Sharlene Ann Holbrook, February 23, 1957. Braun, William F. - Geneva  
William F. Braun Born: Feb. 17, 1928; in Brookfield, IL Died: Jan. 6, 2015; in St. Charles, IL William F. "Bill" Braun, age 86, of Geneva passed away peacefully in the early morning of Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Pine View Care Center in St. Charles. He was born February 17, 1928, in Brookfield, IL, the son of Matthias and Cecile (McCann) Braun. Bill was a 65 year resident of Geneva as well as a 65 year member of First Baptist Church of Geneva. He attended Wheaton College, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Physics. Due to a part-time painting job Bill had during college, upon graduation he started his own painting and wallpapering company, Community Decorating Service. He also spent time umpiring baseball games and refereeing wrestling matches. In the early 1960's Bill earned his master's degree and began a career in teaching in 1964 at St. Francis Academy in Wheaton, where he taught for four years. In 1968 Bill started teaching at the Geneva Junior High School (now Middle School), where he remained until his retirement in 1990. He served for several years as the president of the Teacher's Association, and was active in the National Education Association. Bill was very active in his church and served in a variety of capacities, including choir director, church chairman, high school youth leader, and several others. But his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He touched many lives through his teaching career and his church activities and will be greatly missed. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Vernadine (Brewer); son, William (Jonne) Braun of Columbus, Wisconsin; daughters, Christine (Danny) Sarros of Geneva and Kathy (Bob) Cotant of Hastings, Michigan; son, Scott (Tammy) Braun, of Kershaw, South Carolina; daughter, Jennifer (Robert) Zuri of Elburn; sister, Marge; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthias & Cecile Braun; stepmother, Estelle Braun; sisters, Charlotte and Carol; and brothers, Robert and Richard. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Geneva, 2300 South Street, Geneva. She was born June 18, 1949, in Chicago, IL to the late Eleanor and Neill DeLaat. Chris is survived by a cousin, David (Jane) Williams; nieces, Meghan Coyle and Michelle Bonsall; and longtime friend, Leo Silverman. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Jackie DeLaat. Chris attended the University of Nebraska and earned her Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School. Trevin M. Doyle Trevin M. Doyle, age 38, suddenly, of Brookfield. Beloved husband of Diana (nee Kiser). Loving father of Will and Logan. Adored son of Terry and Andrea (nee Eastham) Doyle. Fond brother of Aryn Doyle and Alys (Kevin) Low. Dear uncle of Anna, Alyvia and Amelia. Cherished son-in-law of John and Mary (nee Howard) Kiser and brother-in-law of John Kiser. Member of Riverside Masonic Lodge #862 and the LaGrange Business Association. Trevin was also active with the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and the Little League. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside. Dunham, Lawrence S. - Naperville  
Lawrence S. Dunham Lawrence Strode Dunham, 92 passed away Wednesday, January14, 2015. He was born in Lakewood, Ohio in 1922 and grew up in the Cleveland and Chicago areas. He attended DePauw University in Greencastle, IN for two years and then enlisted in the Army Air Corps where he became a flight instructor, eventually being stationed in Greenville, MS. While serving there, he met his future wife, Jane Lowry Dunham at a reception. After the war, they were married in Chatham, MS and moved to Ann Arbor, MI where Larry completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Michigan. After graduation, he accepted employment at Arthur Young as a CPA in the Chicago office and the couple moved to Elmhurst, IL where they raised a family and Larry joined the Elmhurst Jaycees. Larry was a member of the American Accounting Association, American Institute of CPAs and was selected for the honorary accounting fraternity, Beta Alpha Pi. In 1966, he became a partner with Arthur Young. He retired from the firm in 1982 and the next year, Jane and Larry relocated to the South Carolina coast. During their retirement, the couple traveled extensively and hosted friends and family who grew to love their home near the beach. He became active in the Litchfield Beach Property Owners Association and was awarded their Groening Kettrell Service Award. A longtime Michigan fan, Larry was in the President's Club and the Maize and Blue Club at the University of Michigan. Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years by Jane who died in 2008; and by his son, Scott who died in 2014. He is survived by three sons, Lawrence (Gail) of Naperville, IL, Douglas (Karin) of Skokie, IL andRandal of Wheaton, IL; five grandsons, three granddaughters and six great-granddaughters. Visitation will be held Monday, January 19, beginning at 1:00 at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 1105 Catalpa Lane, Naperville, IL 60540 with a memorial service following at 3:00. A memorial service will be scheduled at the Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church at a later date.
