Nesbitt, Linda - La Grange
Linda Walter Nesbitt Linda Walter Nesbitt passed peacefully into eternal life on February 26, 2016. A memorial service and reception following is planned on June 26, 2016, 1:30 pm, at First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange, IL. 150 S. Ashland Ave. 60525. Interment will be private. She loved and prayed for her family and friends. Her prayer was for reconciliation and peace that we find only through Jesus. She wanted us to share this verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" Growing up in Tioga, PA, she enjoyed her Father as her principal and Mother as one of her teachers. She graduated from Williamson Sr. High School and Grove City College, where she met Jack. She taught at Lyons Township High School in a substitute teaching role, specializing in English. She was the first substitute teacher to receive the Vita Plena award. One of her favorite things was to connect with friends and be involved with family life. Early in life she enjoyed her brothers and Nearing cousins, waving goodbye was a fond memory. Later family vacations were spent in Tioga and Keuka Lake. Keuka was one place where we recently reconnected and hope to continue to gather our families. She had a wonderful 80th birthday party enjoying friends and family, truly a blessing. We were blessed with a Mom that was always home for us. We all had our special needs. She was grateful for the help received as she managed the effects of ovarian cancer and pulmonary fibrosis. She loved dabbling a bit on her piano she received from her family on her 75th birthday, just prior to a blizzard. Her favorite devotional was, "Jesus Calling". When it was tough to get out, she spent time on the phone with dear friends. Linda is survived by her brother Fred L. Walter, Sr.; daughter, Christine "Chris" (Charlie) C. Smith; daughter, Cathleen (Bill) J. N. Logsdon; son, John D. Nesbitt, Jr.; grandchildren Will J. Logsdon, Jr., and Carolyn C. Logsdon. Passing before her was her husband John "Jack" D. Nesbitt, Sr.; parents, Russell B. and Carolyn N. Walter; brother's Roland and Charles. Memorial gifts may be directed to the John D. Nesbitt, Jr. Supplemental Needs Trust. PO Box 115, Yorkville, IL 60560-0115. The families would like to thank all that served her, prayed for her, and continue to support us.
