Kathryn W. Hart Born: Oct. 7, 1918 Died: Feb. 12, 2015 Kathryn W. Hart, of Indian Harbour Beach, passed away on February 12, 2015. She was born on October 7, 1918, in Cicero, IL to Leon and Katherine Theriault. She was predeceased by her husband, Leroy in 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Lauri Hart; sister, Dolores Mann; nephews, nieces, and cousins. Katy and her late husband moved to LaGrange Park in the fifties. She was an active member of St. Louise de Marillac and numerous civic organizations. She was a remarkable person who impacted many lives with her caring ways and community involvement. Holt, Charles C. - Scottsdale  
Charles C. Holt Born: Feb. 12, 1921 Died: Feb. 18, 2015 Charles Conrad Holt passed away on February 18, 2015, at the age of 94. Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Nadine. He is survived by his daughters, Cydney (Walter) Tholl, and Allyn, and by his son, Conrad (Ginger Davies). He is also survived by his grandson, Andrew Tholl; and five granddaughters, Avery Danforth, Taylor (Sam) Martin, Carter Tholl, and Elizabeth and Chloe Davies-Holt. Charles was born to Leo and Ida Holt in West Frankfort, Illinois, on February 12, 1921. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War Two. On his return to West Frankfort, he met Nadine, and the two were married on January 1, 1948. Charles attended college on the GI Bill, ultimately earning an Ed.D from the University of Illinois. He had a distinguished career in public school administration, serving as Superintendent of Scottsdale Unified Schools, South Bend, Indiana Public Schools, and Proviso Township (Illinois) High School District. Following his retirement in 1980, he and Nadine settled in Scottsdale. Charles was a man of great warmth and personal charm, who made friends wherever he went. He will be missed by many, but those of us who knew him best will miss the singing. A memorial service was at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 23, at Christ Church of the Ascension, 4015 E. Lincoln Drive in Paradise Valley, AZ. Arrangements were entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.

Rita Joshel Born: March 4, 1921 Died: Feb. 21, 2015 Rita Joshel, age 93, a resident of Aurora, IL, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2015. She was born in Detroit, MI on March 4, 1921, and resided in the Chicagoland area for many years, as well as in Anderson, IN. She was a beloved secretary for many years at Sunnyside Elementary School (District 87) in Berkeley, IL. She was a dedicated volunteer for the PTA, Band Boosters, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Berkeley Library and at Community Hospital in Anderson, IN. Rita is survived by her loving children, Joanie (Bud Gray) Clarke, Marjory (Jean-Jacques Surbeck) Kaplan,David (Christine) Joshel and Deborah (Dr. Timothy) Clare; her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer (Denny) Grosclaude, SSG Joel (Kasumi Leonard) Klenke, Julia Joshel and SSG Jeremy (Christy) Klenke; her dear brother, Clem Krause. Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Myron Joshel, in 1994; as well asher siblings, Frank, Joe, Clara, Mary Ann, Cecilia, Agnes, Anne and Bernard. For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Rita's life, memorials to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 13105 Watertown Plank Road, Elm Grove, WI 53122 or West Suburban Symphony Society, PO Box 565, Hinsdale, IL 60522, would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.
