WILLIAM K. SCHENCK William K. Schenck, FACHE, LIFE MEMBER, age 89, of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathleen; two daughters: Cynthia (William) Kennedy and Paula (Reid) Reynolds; four grandchildren, William Kennedy, Jamie Kennedy, Randall (Erin) Reynolds and Kathryn Reynolds; great granddaughter, Rian; sister-in-law, Donna (Lloyd) Hinkley; brother-in-law, Lyle (Phyllis) Blue; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, May 24, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (one-half mile south of U.S. 30), Schererville, Indiana. Cremation preceded the service. Mr. Schenck was a retired Hospital Admnistrator, and an Educator at Indiana University Northwest (Gary Campus). He was past president of the Board of Directors at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, Indiana, and a member of the Board of Directors for CFNI Community Healthcare System in Munster, Indiana. During his career, he served as President of the Lake County Cancer Society, United Way, and Heart Association. Mr. Schenck was also a member of the University of Nebraska Alumni Association, and a lifetime member of the SAE Fraternity. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army-Air Corps during WWII, and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Schenck was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing tennis. He attended many professional tennis tournaments during his lifetime, and traveled extensively. William was also?an avid reader, and loved listening to Jazz music.
