CLIFFORD E DYER JR. Clifford E Dyer Jr. of Elmhurst, IL passed away peacefully at home at the age of 95. Native of De Soto, Wisconsin, Alumni University of Illinois Class of 1940 with a degree in electrical engineering; proud employee of Commonwealth Edison for over 30 years; Beloved husband of Mary Evelyn, nee Burke for almost 70 years, during which time life took them from Illinois to Pennsylvania back to Illinois, also Michigan, Indiana and Iowa before returning home to Illinois; loving father of Thomas (Mary Ann), David (Debra Ann), and Diane (James) Byrne; cherished grandfather of Michael, Jeffrey (Laurie Parish), Barbara (Lamine) Dyer-Diagne, David Jr., and Dr. Christianne (Jason) Brown and great-grandfather of Josephine and Alexandra Brown; cherished son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth, nee Fagan and brother of the late Etta Janc; dear uncle, aunt and friend. Clifford had many interests including studying financial markets, reading western novels traveling and gardening, growing everything from asparagus to zucchini but especially strawberries and rhubarb. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him and is recognized as a member of the greatest generation. Visitation Wednesday, 3:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until time of funeral 9:00 a.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (1/2 mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment to follow on Friday at Calvary Cemetery, Freeport, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elmhurst Public Library, 125 South Prospect Avenue, Elmhurst, IL 60126.
