Edwin Schnick Obituary

EDWIN D. SCHNICK Edwin D. Schnick, age 80, of Downers Grove, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013 in Michigan City, Indiana. Edwin is survived by his wife, Zelda (Cornett) Schnick; children, Brenda (Dan Imig) Schnick of Warren, Pennsylvania, Doug Schnick of LaPorte Colorado, Julie (Gary) Motycka of Batavia, Illinois; step-children, Natalea (Larry) Watkins of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Chris (Kimetha) Brown of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren, Erin Yeoman, Katelyn Grove, Jody Brown and Kamryn Brown; nieces, Amy and Carrie; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Schnick. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ellen (Burns) Schnick; first wife, Shirley M. (McAlpine) Schnick, who passed away in 1982; brother, Eugene Schnick. Edwin was a graduate of Purdue University, and got his Masters degree from Michigan State University. Edwin worked for Con-Agra for 39 years, as the Butterball Turkey Division Commodity Manager. He served his country during the Korean War. Edwin enjoyed spending time at his family farm, which was awarded the Hoosier Heritage Homestead Award in 2006. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Geisen-Carlisle Funeral & Cremation Services, 613 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.
