Robert M. Bruns, Sr. of Clarendon Hills, 86, passed away on January 14, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Bruns, his sons, Dr. Patrick Bruns of Boulder, Colorado, Robert M. Bruns, Jr. of Sugar Grove, IL and two step daughters, Susan Ramey (Michael) Frank of Springfield, Mass. and Ann Loveless of North Richland Hills, Texas. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Trenton Bruns, Ben Fisher-Bruns, Elizabeth Fisher-Bruns, Danny Fisher-Bruns, Amber Ramey and Andrew Loveless. Robert was preceded in death by his first wife Greta Franck Bruns who died on June 11, 1988. He was in the Army eight years, serving in both 2nd World War and Korean War. Previously from Aurora, IL, he was a butcher at National Tea Company for 25 years and is also retired from West Aurora School District. He was an avid reader on numerous topics, had a good sense of humor, and was a good friend to all who knew him. Jackie feels blessed and even more fortunate to have been his partner in marriage for almost 24 years. A Memorial Service will be private. Donations may be made to Unitarian Church of Hinsdale, Endowment Fund, 17 W Maple, Hinsdale, IL.

I remember Bob fondly when he worked at Freeman Elementary School where I was a teacher. He was hard working , friendly, and liked by all who knew him. My sympathies to the family on the loss of Bob.
