Thomas S. Adamson, age 53, lifelong resident of West Chicago, passed away on January 13, 2011 at home after a 2 year battle with ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He was born on December 23, 1957 in Geneva, Illinois to Wayne and Betty (Welter) Adamson. He followed in his father's footsteps and became a plumber. Tom enjoyed his guitars and was an avid gardener. He also enjoyed a good round of golf. Tom was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams included the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago White Sox. Tom is survived by three brothers, Nick (Debbie) Adamson of Sugar Grove, Harry (Kathleen) Adamson of St. Charles and David Adamson of West Chicago; three sisters, Judy Coakley of West Chicago, Merry (Phil) Hahn of Houston, TX and Jeanette Adamson of Montgomery; four nieces; one nephew; five great-nieces; 2 great-nephews and many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Betty Adamson. Visitation was held on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 3 to 8 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. Prayers were Monday, January 17, 2011 at 9:30 am from the funeral home to St. Mary's Church. Mass 10:00 am. Interment Glen Cemetery in West Chicago. I went to grade school at St Mary's with Tom. He had a quiet and gentle nature. My prayers are with him family at this difficult time.
