Mildred and Donald enjoyed all aspects of nature throughout their lives and supported many charitable organizations, such as needy children and protection of the environment and wildlife. They also loved cats, giving home to many strays over their lifetimes. Mildred loved traveling abroad, including trips to the British Isles and Hawaii. She was active on church committees, was a board member of the D.G. Concert Association, sang with the D.G. Choral Society, and volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital for many years.
