Farnsley Peters Obituary
FARNSLEY PETERS Farnsley Peters, a 1947 graduate of Glenbard West, passed away at home on Sunday, October 20, 2013, in Nokomis, Florida. While at Glenbard, he participated in dramatics and sports. He then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison on a scholarship and graduated in 1952 with a B.S. in Economics. He served in the military during the Korean Conflict, served as President of Illinois Jaycees, and went on to a career managing Chambers of Commerce. He sang with his church choir and several men 's choruses. He is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Susan and son-in-law, Patrick Brugh of Glen Ellyn; son, David of Nokomis; three grandsons, Miles and Griffin Brugh and Derrik Peters; and brothers, Kenton of Madison, Wisconsin, and Barry, of Oswego, Illinois. He is predeceased by his parents, Freda and Floyd Peters and his brother, Tom. A service will be held at Venice Presbyterian Church in Venice, Florida, Sunday, November 27, 2013, at 11:00 am, and a celebration of life will be held in Glen Ellyn in the spring. The family is grateful to Hospice for their care and support. Memorials may be sent to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34238. Ewing Funeral Home, Venice, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
